About No-Foam Wash

Taking a bath? Not without a foam! Shower gel, shampoo, face cleanser, toothpaste, cleaning products – everything has to foam. If it doesn’t foam, it doesn’t work. At least that’s what most of us think. Meanwhile, a foam is just an entertainment, that doesn’t affect the cosmetic’s effect. That’s why many manufacturers started creating cosmetics in the form of a foam: shower gels, make-up removers, lotions, self-tanners, make-up foundations, eyeshadows – all are available as foam products now. The only exceptions are natural cosmetics, that stubbornly refuse to foam or do it poorly.

Foaming up

Creating a deliciously dense and creamy foam is a simple chemical art. All you have to do is add Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS) or Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLES) formulas – cheap substances that result in the cosmetic having a nice thick consistency and making it foam excellently. Despite appearances, they don’t have any washing properties. And the caress of the foam that they provide is often harsh on the skin because both of these substances may cause drying and irritating effects. Therefore, you won’t find them in natural cosmetics composition.

Delicate by nature

These types of products contain effective and also gentle substances of natural origin that eliminate contaminants without affecting a natural protective barrier of the skin. Some of them have almost caring properties, but… they don’t foam as well. Here at YOPE, we do what we can, to make our products pleasant to use, while also as close as possible to nature, and that’s why we add safe, allowed by certifying authorities, natural washing and foaming products, such as obtained from vegetable oils, certified with the Ecocert certificate: Coco-Glucoside (YOPE soaps and shampoos for greasy hair ingredient), Ammonium Lauryl Sulfate (used in YOPE washing-up liquids), Glyceryl Caprylate (shampoo for dry hair ingredient), and accepted as safe within European project of Human and Environmental Risk Assessment - Cocamidopropyl Betaine (soaps, shower gels and washing-up liquids ingredient), that additionally mitigates the effects of other detergents. All create a delicate foam that is nowhere near the one SLS and SLES create. In this case, less is more. More benefits for the skin and nature.
